Yes, we must be playing totally different game. When I play a mesmer there are leavers in about 50% of my teams. If I play a monk there are the same amount of leavers - in opposite team. And it's based on much bigger number than 100 games.

Leavers are the main problem of RA. If you wish a team with monk - go to TA and leave RA for random teams (random with equal chances, means 4v4, not 3v4, 2v4 or 1v4).

But these players should not be awarded for their anti-community behaviour. And timer should not be treated as penalty, but just as a rule of a game.

I really find playing with a couple wamos and a necro that spams flare to be just as lacking in fun as playing 3v4. And your two wamos and a flare-spam necro are also going to be stomped by the necro hexer, the bonder, the spirit spam, and the hammer warrior on the other team pretty much regardless of what you do. Those aren't equal chances.
I usually stick it out for one round though, and leave after the match is done. Unless I'm in a situation as bad as the one I just described--I'd quit that in an instant.
That, and there are a lot of bad players in TA (well, there aren't a lot of any players in TA, but a good percentage of the ones there are bad), so unless you have friends on at the moment, good luck forming a TA group.

I kinda feel bad for you who don't get it why you shouldn't leave RA if you team up with wammos etc. so I'll give you a hand.

Leavers are leavers because they want to get in a perfect team. Why don't they go to TA? Probably because if they have 'teh perfect RA team' it'll be easier since other RA teams that are really RANDOM don't have perfect team.
There's no whatso-friggin-ever reason to leave RA because of your team. If people are too stupid to grasp the definition of "random" then let'em suffer.

/signed for some sort of punishment for quitters! or even better disable mapping out in RA.. will solve the problem completely!
If you want a perfect team, go to TA. If you just want to have fun, then stay in RA and take whatever team you get!

One of the things that really annoy me when playing in RA is how some people systematically leave whenever they don't have a monk on their team.
In my case, this is doubly stupid. I usually play N/Rt Remedy healer in RA, because I think the build is fun and it works pretty well. Usually, though, people manage to leave so fast I don't even have the chance to cast my weapon to show my build.

You don't always need a monk in RA, just a smart team. But some of the builds I see in RA give me nightmares. "Charge!" Warriors, Riposte tank Monks and wammos, Defy Pain warriors, 55s of all kinds, etc. Its nice to practice new builds and such, I admit I like to test too. But when people play a PVE build thats used against mindless AI(which is like playing 3v4) or use a build that has no business being in pvp(like a Flare spamming W/E), it severely handicap the team.
RA can be a pile of suck at times and it really sucks when its part of your team.

Yeah, I admit that playing with 55 monks isn't fun. But there are 2 options to this.
a) your team loses
b) your team wins and then you leave- this way 55 monk will get another person in your place. Everybody's happy.

Although that hinders the Arena for people who like playing for fun but still want to get some kind of reward if they've accomplished 10 wins. Which is really the mentality people should be going in RA with, IMO. I'd rather see a change that makes it impossible to map-out before a certain time limit.

Solution to leavers - run good builds. Even if experimental, run decent ones.
A lot of players won't quit if there's no monk in the team, as long as players seem decent. If, however, the team has stuff like: pve charaters, sword warriors without crippling slash, full earth eles, all defense/heal dervishes, smite monks, heal monks, sword monks etc, MM necros, paragons, characters without secondary profession... = a reason for concern. Don't be suprised if players quit if you're running any of these. No, that doesn't mean all of these options are bad; for instance, there r builds which r good with only one profession, there r paragon builds which will get you to 10 wins etc, but in general these are a signs of a bad team.
ps: Of course, some people leave every time no monk in their team; i find it disgusting.
pps: I have very little problem with leavers to be honest, usually if someone leaves it's those people who want a monk in their team. However, I guess you could say I contribute to a problem since I do leave when I see someone casting Mending or anything that I dont like because I know it wont work (for instance, if you're a full pve heal monk... cyaz, since ur gonna die in 4 sec anyway so why bother).

\What do u mean by PvE monk?, does this refer to the bar, or to the character. As for the character it does not really matter, many monks wear perfect stuff these days. Mending ---> leave is certainly not abnormal. Just now the sound of mending being activated is pinging in my head.

You don't need perfect stuff, but when I see PvE character I assume the worse. BTW I use PvE characters myself sometimes.
By saying PvE monk I meant a monk with no energy management, full bar of healing prayers like Heal Other etc, which will get you killed in 4sec. I tell this to those monks every time. Suprisingly, they die in 4 sec every time.
ps: Stop mentioning Mending, my trained reflex will make me ragequit this forum too
